Scriptures: Matthew 6:30-31- If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will He not much more clothe you—you of little faith? So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’
Deuteronomy 31:8-The LORD Himself goes before you and will be with you; He will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.
In times of uncertainty such as the times we are in now, we can be tempted to worry excessively over the future. This worry can then translate to anxiety or fear of the future. Often this can also lead to excessive planning and strategizing for the future and wanting to see immediate results. There is nothing wrong with planning or forecasting, but we must be careful not to be overly consumed with the future that we worry ourselves sick.
Maturing in our journey with God requires faith. The longer we walk with Him the more we should trust that He knows all and sees all; and that God will never lead us astray. Jesus assures us of God’s ability to take care of our needs just as much as He cares for vegetation and birds (Matthew 6:28-32). God values humans more than the rest of His creation and He wants the best for each of us (Psalm 8:4-6) “What is man, that thou art mindful of him? and the son of man, that You visit him? For You have made him a little lower than the angels and has crowned him with glory and honor. You made him have dominion over the works of Your hands; You have put all things under his feet”
Deuteronomy 31:8 is a great assuring verse, that God has gone ahead of us to organize and set forth our future. His plans for us are the best according to Jeremiah 29:11. God is so adamant about our success that He goes ahead in advance to remove obstacles and hindrances- He clears pathways for us along the way (Isaiah 45:2). He guides with both glory and light as shields to the front and the back (Isaiah 58.8).
Our future is already in God’s hands. He has the best for us. Cast all your care on Jesus because He cares. Despite the uncertainties about the future, submit and surrender all your affairs to the Lordship of Jesus Christ. Entrust Him to guide you truthfully and successfully to the end. As the Alpha and Omega, the One who sees the end from the beginning, the Ancient of Days; God has our future- God has already seen the end-result. He will never put us to shame. We will flourish as we journey together daily. Entrust your future to the Lord!
