Matthew 13:20-21 caught my attention two weeks ago, it says-The seed falling on rocky ground refers to someone who hears the word and at once receives it with joy. But since they have no root, they last only a short time. When trouble or persecution comes because of the word, they quickly fall away.
The latter part of verse 21 is what caught my attention, Jesus saying that the fight/percussions come because of the word. The word here is the promise God gave you, what has been spoken over you. A God ordained declaration or prophesy over you. That is the word. Could it be that all along the fights, delays, frustrations, oppositions, resistances, gossips, betrayals, slander, hurt, name it, are all BECA– USE OF THE WORD YOU RECEIVED!
Ponder on that for a minute. Instead of fighting the enemy, REFOCUS on the promise, the declaration, the prophesy. Switch all your attention to these, because He who promised, He is sure to perform them to completion and to perfection. Philippians 1:6. God is not human, that He should lie, not a human being, that He should change His mind. Does He speak and then not act? Does He promise and not fulfill? Numbers 23:19
This week, instead of focusing on the devil and his antics, FOCUS ON THE PROMISE. It is highly likely that he is opposing that word. Satan tried Jesus too by offering other alternatives. But Jesus stood to the task of His assignment. You too can, because you now have this Jesus in you and you have a greater covenant that establishes you as co-heir, reigning victorious always with Jesus.
Focus on the word you received. The promises of God are all YES and ALL in Him Amen!
