As humans, we often want to see immediate results to prayers we have petitioned. Well there are things that God will respond to immediately and there are things that God will take time responding to. There things that God responds to with grand outcomes and there are things that He responds to in increments – consider thanking God for the progressive results.
Have you been praying for something and the answer has not manifested yet? Maybe you a praying for a loved one, a son or daughter, your spouse, a co-worker or a situation in business, work or marriage. Although the full breakthrough has not yet manifested, take notice of the small positive things that are happening in the person or the situation. If you were expecting 1000 customers in your business today, thank God for the 50 who patronized you today. If the son or daughter is not going to church yet, thank God that they are back in school and no longer with the wrong friends. If you are working towards your personal goals, thank God for every small step you have successfully completed.
Next time before we start asking God for our needs; let’s thank Him the gradual results. Let’s thank Him for the little positive changes that we are seeing. Let’s praise Him. God abides in the praises of His people. He loves grateful hearts. Let’s not just keep asking- but let’s also thank Him in the midst of asking. Remember, God hears our prayers before we ask (1 John 5:14); He responds to the cries of His children (Isaiah 65:24). Those who trust Him will never be put to shame (Psalm 69.6)
Gratefulness opens opportunities for more. God rewards a grateful heart. Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you (I Thessalonians 5:18). Oh, give thanks to the Lord, for he is good, for his steadfast love endures forever (Psalm 107:1).
Celebrate and thank God for the little progress.
