When we receive revelations from the Holy Spirit, they are often just the beginning of a deeper conversation. It is important that we do not hastily share these revelations until the Holy Spirit has finished imparting all that He wants to reveal to us. These revelations are like open invitations for further discussion with the Holy Spirit. Just like baking a cake, the Holy Spirit drops one ingredient at a time and allows us to process the information before revealing the full picture of the revelation. This process allows us to seek clarifications or ask questions in areas we don’t understand to ensure we truly grasp the full picture.
From the Bible, we can learn from Joseph and Daniel, who both handled revelations differently. Joseph shared his dreams and faced retaliation from his family (Genesis 37:12-36), while Daniel spent ample time with angels and asked them questions about his visions. In the end, Daniel knew the destiny of Israel and his own destiny. However, he was also warned not to share everything he saw (Daniel 10-12).
Walking with God is simple. When God initiates a conversation through revelations, it is the start of a deeper discussion. These bits and pieces of revelations, once compiled, may result in sermon series, books, or teachings. It is important that we do not rush to release revelations too early, as they may be premature and lack the impact they were meant to have. Take time to marinate and process what the Holy Spirit reveals, and in doing so, you will be able to share a comprehensive word.
