REVELATORY GIFTS AND THE SEVEN SPIRITS OF GOD GREAT AID IN YOUR DESTINY: JOURNEY WITH THE HOLY SPIRIT SERIES

This week we transition into journeying with the Holy Spirit using the gifts of the Holy Spirit that are given to believers. Every gift, whether spiritual or natural, should also be used for your benefit in addition to serving others. The spiritual gifts listed in 1 Corinthians 12 are equally important; those supplemented with the seven Spirits of God can be helpful to believers to advance them and to help them avoid potholes or challenges in life.  The revelatory gifts listed in 1 Corinthians 12:7-11 are words of wisdom, words of knowledge, and Discernment of Spirits.

Revelatory gifts disclose or reveal information you did not know or have. Revelation enlightens the heart. Revelatory gifts create awareness.  The Holy Spirit provides the revealed information to instruct, warn, provide direction, identify causes of problems or solutions to issues, and expose hidden things, whether good or bad.

  • Through words of knowledge, we receive the necessary information about a situation.
  • Through words of wisdom, we receive strategies, blueprints, ideas, and or solutions (how to)
  • Through discernment of spirits, we can detect good or evil spirits behind an issue. The good is often the angelic ministry, and we engage with them; the evil spirit is often demonic forces, and we can obtain strategies to defeat them with word of wisdom.

Although not specifically listed as gifts, dreams, visions, or trances, encounters with God are also revelatory gifts (see Joel 2: 28-29 or Acts 4:17-18). The best Biblical example of a person who experienced revelatory gifts through dreams was Joseph, Jesus’s earthly father when he was repeatedly instructed regarding the safety of baby Jesus. Most dreams, visions, and traces are often about you- ask the Holy Spirit to help you interpret them.

To supplement the revelatory gifts, we should also invite the ministry of the seven Spirits of God. First mentioned in Isaiah 11:2, they are also mentioned in Zechariah 4:4-6, Revelation 4:5, 5:6. They are the Spirit of God, the Spirit of Wisdom and Understanding, the Spirit of Counsel and Power, and the Spirit of Knowledge and Fear of the Lord. The revelatory dimensions are the Spirit of Wisdom, Knowledge, Counsel, and Understanding. Wisdom, knowledge, and understanding are important to know God’s seasons and the timings so that we partner with the Holy Spirit on time and effectively steward what he is doing each season. The Spirit of knowledge and the Fear of the Lord work together because without having the proper fear of God, we cannot understand the knowledge of God.  (Proverbs 1:7). Wisdom, knowledge, and understanding are important keys that unlock the spiritual intelligence that we need. The Fear of the Lord unlocks the secrets of heaven (Psalm 25:14)

The Spirit of the Lord is first mentioned in the Anointing and the Enabler who empowers us to do all things (Matthew 3:11, Luke 4:18-19, 1 John 2:27, 2 Corinthians 3:17). The Spirit of Wisdom (Proverbs 2;6, Proverbs 4, Proverbs 8). Spirit of Understanding (Colossians 1:9). Spirit of Knowledge (John 14:25-26, Exodus 33:13). Spirit of Counsel (John 14:16-17). Spirit of Might or Power (Acts 1:8, Matthew 3:11). Spirit of the Fear of the Lord (Proverbs 1:7).

Revelatory gifts generally operate through seeing, hearing, sensing (impression), dreams and visions, or inner knowing. Remember to keep your gates clean- (eyes, ears, heart, thoughts-mind, and body) because they are your channels for receiving revelation. This week ask the Holy Spirit to give you words of wisdom or knowledge for your problems. You should expect to receive direction from dreams, visions, or trances. Your revelatory receptors have been heightened! Watch out for dreams and visions you may have this week -because you can effectively b information through them. Revelatory gifts provide you with the information you need to follow through effectively, be successful, and progress in life; expect answers, instructions, and guidance from the Holy Spirit through the revelatory gifts. Remember to journal your journey with the Holy Spirit.

Prayer

Thank you, Holy Spirit, for your gifts. We repent for not using them wrongfully or keeping them dormant. Forgive us for anything we have allowed in our lives that is blocking all spiritual gifts. We repent, Lord, and now ask that you activate all the gifts. This week we ask, according to Matthew 7:7, to ask, and it shall be given. Holy Spirit, we ask to engage with you through the words of knowledge, wisdom, and discernment of spirit. We also ask that seer gifts of dreams, visions, trances, and encounters be activated. This week Lord, we pray for the assistance of the 7 Spirits of God Spirit of the Lord, the Spirit of Wisdom and Understanding, the Spirit of Counsel and Power, and the Spirit of Knowledge and Fear of the Lord. We invite you, Holy Spirit, through revelatory gifts and thank you in Jesus’s Name.
