In most charismatic movements, churches and gatherings, these have become common expressions that we often hear among us. Often there calls for fire to come down to destroy, to be consumed with fire, but this week I would like us to review the next step in the manufacturing process of the pot; it is being placed in the furnace!
In an earlier blog, I discussed us (the clay) being made by the Potter (God) into instruments of use. In fact, like in any house there are vessel of common use and for greater use. Nevertheless, all vessels are sharped and equipped for their assigned use. In a large house, there are articles not only of gold and silver, but also of wood and clay; some are for special purposes and some for common use. Those who cleanse themselves from the latter will be instruments for special purposes, made holy, useful to the Master and prepared to do any good work. 2 Timothy 2:20-21
As the pot, you as a believer goes through a “fire(s)”to be processed. So, next time you call on fire, fire, fire, please note the Fire of the Lord is not limited to destroying satan, but while He does that, Holy Spirit Fire also does the following:
a)Burns every impurity off you- This may mean bring you to total surrender, requiring of you to let go some people, certain habits or some things. Are you ready for this?
b)Shaping and molding you to something that you are not comfortable pursuing- As you are burned in the furnace of the Holy Spirit, He will require transformation of the mind, thought process, commitment, a molding of character and behaviors, a restructuring of both personal and spiritual areas- Are you ready for these?
c)Emptying- As the Fire burns the impurities and the old nature dies, you as the vessel is emptied out in preparation to receive some new things-mmmmh! Are you ready for this?
d)The Refiners Fire- He the Spirit of Fire may refine and fine tune some areas or do a 180-degree switch and refine to bring something totally new; changing the trajectory of your assignment or calling -Can you handle this?
e)The Fire will settle in you but also work through you-I believe this come after steps (a)-(d) are completed and we have fully surrendered to whatever God wants to with us. We not only burn inside with His fire, but that This Fire makes us hunger for more of Him, He is the same Fire that goes before us and works with us daily. It is also the same Fire that protects and preserves as. Wow! That we are not preserved in the cold (refrigerator) but rather we are preserved in the Fire of the Lord! Halleluyah!
If you are ready to experience the fullness of the Holy Spirit, this week as God to fill you with the Spirit of Fire. According to Matthew3:11 1indeed baptize you with water unto repentance, but He who is coming after me is mightier than I, whose sandals I am not worthy to carry. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire.
Next time you shout fire, fire, fire, anticipate that the above will happen, God may likely be placing you in His Furnace!
