But when He (Holy Spirit), the Spirit of truth, comes, He will guide you into all the truth. He will not speak on his own; he will speak only what He hears from God our Father, and He will tell you what is yet to come. John 16:13
We are living in an age where many are seeking for answers and solutions to life issues. To some, it is just a quest for spirituality, a sense of belonging and quest for a fulfilled destiny. Some still question what their destinies are. There seems to be an increased hunger to quench multiple voids.
Because of these many have resorted to any means that would provide them answers. Most have tapped into astrology, psychic operations, alternative religions or blend of multiple faiths. More disturbing though is the increasing number of believers who have resorted to prophetic gifts as their own source of direction; turning it to what I term “prophetic psychics”.
The problem of relying on a person for direction is that it opens one to deception, exploitation and hurt especially if the source of that person’s information is not God. Second, it leads to Idolatry because the person or thing replaces God as the sole source for everything.
Christians are however blessed to have the assigned Helper; the Holy Spirit. The beauty of this is that the Holy Spirit only leads you the truth concerning the past, the present and the future. Secondly, what the Holy Spirit tells you will never contradict the Word of God or the destiny God has for you because the Holy Spirit hears directly from God then disseminates to you. The issue though is that most Christians do not want to foster the relationship with the Holy Spirit.
This week, purpose to foster a relationship with the Holy Spirit. Start by asking “Holy Spirit Come”. Welcome the Holy Spirit to lead your prayers, to guide your day, ask Him questions, ask Him to show you things about your marriage, children or family. Ask him for ideas about job, work project or business; when and where to relocate to, ask the Holy Spirit to join your board & business meetings, invite Him in your thought process and emotions, talk to Him openly, tell the Holy Spirit everything. Press in to pray more in tongues (prayer language) if you have this gift. He, The Holy Spirit will guide you in all truth.
