As we walk with God on our journey toward our destiny, the path to advancement can take many forms, and we must remain flexible in following His direction. Part of this journey involves encountering hindrances that can impede our progress. These obstacles may be spiritual, personal, or caused by others. As we confront and address these challenges, God strengthens us, granting us authority, power, courage, and boldness to face new difficulties. Ultimately, overcoming these obstacles helps us mature in various aspects of life.
I have learned that, depending on one’s calling, God sometimes places us on the frontlines to confront giants directly in a spiritual battle. These giants often represent the final obstacles we must overcome before experiencing advancement or promotion. The two most common giants are Goliath, defeated in the name of the Lord of Armies, and Jezebel, overthrown by the truth, symbolized by the two-edged sword of the Word of the Lord, the blood of Jesus, and fire.
If you find yourself on the frontlines, face these two giants boldly and refuse to tolerate them. Like King David, you must defeat Goliath to clear the way for advancement (1 Samuel 17). Following the example of Jehu, you must eradicate every trace of Jezebel (2 Kings 9). Though the battles can be intense, persist until the end. God will never place you in such a position without preparing and granting you victory. Always approach these battles with a triumphant attitude and expect your promotion.
