Scripture: Psalm 8: 4-8 “What is mankind that you are mindful of them, human beings that you care for them? You have made them a little lower than the angels and crowned them with glory and honor. You made them rulers over the works of your hands; you put everything under their feet: all flocks and herds, and the animals of the wild, the birds in the sky, and the fish in the sea, all that swim the paths of the seas”.
The human race is one of God’s treasured creations. God values and respects every human regardless of one’s race, color, or age (Deuteronomy 14:6, 2 Peter 2:9). It is for this reason that He could not fathom sin separating Him from His creation, so He offered His Son Jesus Christ to exchange the sin for union and communion with Him (John 3:16).
It is as though this reconciliation (Ephesians 2:16) was not enough, God then also gave mankind dominion, power, and authority over the rest of the non-human creation; to subdue the earth and be fruitful. Jesus Christ sanctions this command by empowering those who have accepted Him as Lord and Savior in Luke 10:19.
Crown and honor are governmental ornaments. Every believer carries the glory of God internally in their spirit and externally around them (Isaiah 60:1-2). God’s glory is often accompanied by transforming power. It penetrates dark areas with its light. It changes the dynamics around it, when God’s glory is one you, it can bring life in dead situations, hope in hopeless situations, joy, and strength in weak people.
Honor is key that births forth opportunities. Honor gives us access to places and things we need for our assignments and destinies. Because of the honor God has bestowed upon us, we can pursue life without, shame, guilt, or condemnation. Humility, boldness, courage, excellence, productivity, fruitfulness, and advancement are virtues that should accompany those who are honored by God.
I encourage you this week to walk with your head up. Pursue your dreams and goals with boldness and courage, God has your back! Do not allow anything to intimidate or undervalue you. Know your value; honor and glory are engrained in your identity as a child f God. They are your spiritual inheritance. Regardless of what has transpired in your life; God still values you; He is for you. God loves when you succeed. Allow God’s glory and honor to work for you. Arise and Shine for the glory of the Lord is upon you. The Lord is with you, He will rise upon you wherever you go.
