Adverse reports and incidences are unexpected; we never plan for or anticipate them. Negative information comes through various forms, such as discouraging medical reports, an abrupt end to a contract or a job, attacks from people or the devil, offenses, defamation of character, or even terrorizing dreams or visions. Nevertheless, each spirit-filled born-again believer is equipped to intercept and cancel the outcomes of these negative reports.

Before I proceed with outlining how these reports can be mitigated, let me share how God warns. God warns of impending danger in so many ways- He warns through:

  • Dreams -Joseph, the earthly father of our Lord Jesus Christ, was warned several times about the safety of Jesus as an infant through dreams. These accounts are in the first and the second chapter of the book of Matthew. In the Old Testament, the first account of warnings through dreams involves King Abimelech, whom God warned not to touch Sarah Abrahams’ wife. Other accounts of warnings include the warnings   God gave pharaoh about the impending drought in Genesis and King Nebuchadnezzar in the book of Daniel.  God still warns of impending danger through dreams to date.  So we must pay attention to dreams.
  • Discernment- Discernment means to see, recognize, or understand something that is not clear. It is the ability to discriminate or differentiate. Most often, discernment occurs through our spiritual senses exposing what is right or wrong. The ability to discern is a gift of the Holy Spirit that alerts us to be watchful, prayerful, and take appropriate action.
  • Impressions or Instinct– God warns though instinct; some call this the “small voice” that invokes an internal mental or emotional check. In my culture, we attribute this small voice or impression of the heart. Often say, “my heart warned me or told me.” This is also commonly used by God to communicate that something is going to happen. So do not ignore your inner “knowers”! Take that impression seriously, whether for the impression is positive or negative.

  • The Holy Spirit– The Holy Spirit warns, too, whether we obey Him or not. God, out of His mercies and compassion, does not like to see His children suffer, so He warns as a sign of His love. Each believer has a unique personalized relationship with the Holy Spirit and is capable of hearing Him distinctly. The Holy Spirit communicates to us in different ways. It is essential to learn the specific ways the Holy Spirit communicates to you and respond accordingly.

  • Others- God warns through others. This includes counsel from wise people who have experience in an area and can redirect us when we are headed in the wrong direction. God can also use prophetic voices to warn and redirect. Other platforms include media and expert intelligence that warn of impending danger.

Consider the above list as a measure of God’s love of notifying and preparing from impending danger. At times, the danger may happen still happen despite the forewarning, but God often provides a strategy to mitigate the danger when we rely on Him.  Now back to the critical topic, how do we intercept these adverse reports?

  1. Know your ammunition– 2 Timothy 4:2 warns that we must be ready in season and out of season. This means that we must be prepared at all times. Despite the unexpected attacks, always remind yourself of who you are and the ammunition you have. Operate from your victorious identity in Christ and engage the weapons God has already given you. The Armor of God is not too worn only when you wake up; we should have it all the time, when you wake up, in the course of your day and when you go to sleep. Thieves often come when you are unaware – hence the need to have the armor on 24/7. Should they show up, you should be ready for them.

Your identity in Christ affirms you as a conqueror and a co-heir who reigns with Christ above evil powers, dominion, rulers of darkness, and all types of wickedness. With these, you have the ammunition to intercept, overrule and overturn the report you have received by the power of the Holy Spirit, by the Word of God and by Blood of Jesus and in the Name of the Lord. Additionally, you have the support of Jesus Christ-Matthew 28:20- Lo I will be with you even to the end. You have the support of Angels. Hebrews 1:14 says that Angels are ministering spirits to you. Not forgetting the support of the Holy Spirit- Isaiah 59:19b When the enemy comes in like a flood, The Spirit of the Lord will lift a standard against him. Remember, you are never alone to confront and intercept adverse reports.

  1. Be courageous– Do not allow the unfavorable situation to breed fear in you- the enemy counts of the fact that you will be fearful and back off so that he can inflict more damage. God has not given you the spirit of fear, but love power and a sound mind (1 Timothy 1:7)

  1. Do not be overwhelmed – The report may be overwhelming but focus on the Mighty One to save. Count on God’s character, His faithfulness, His reliability, and His promises. Remember Nothing is Impossible with God (Luke 1:37)

  1. It is highly a spiritual battle– We are often tempted to confront negatives reports or situations through our natural abilities. Whereas some adverse outcomes are indeed based on the poor choices we have made or out of not knowing (ignorance), we should not negate the spiritual aspects of things. As believes we engage mostly spiritually. This is where discernment and relying on the Holy Spirit becomes crucial. We cannot engage in spiritual matters through natural means (Ephesians 6:10-18)

  1. Refuse to be drawn into the drama of the negative report– The enemy loves to exacerbate a situation and latch on for continued access. When we feed into the drama, the situation gets inflated. The situation can be magnified through increased debates, arguments, discussions, passing judgments, back and forth texts. This opens opportunities for the enemy to afflict more and to distract you from what you need to be doing, which is seeking God about your situation. We can learn from Nehemiah- that whatever the enemy threw at him, He did not engage with them, and He refused to accept the enemy’s reports and invitations. Nehemiah stayed focused on the task (Nehemiah chapters 4, 5, 6, and 7). Avoid the distraction of the enemy’s drama by maintaining focus on your goals and objectives.

  1. Do not dwell on it – Try to settle the matter quickly and move on; don’t dwell on the issue. The enemy loves to stir up things, so do not dwell on what you have submitted to the Lord. By dwelling on it, you idolize the enemy or give him more attention-which empowers the enemy. Overly dwelling on an issue invites victimization and self -pity; both are forms of self-idolatry because all one focuses on are the negative issues. Pray, trust God to fight for you, drop your missile of prayer and declarations, stand on the unshakable word of God, and keep it moving!

  1. Repentance – Repentance was a forgotten practice amongst born- again believers, but it is exciting to see that the church is being awakened to practice it again in this new 2020 era. Not everything is a result of sin, but I have learned to allow God to search my heart and life for anything that could be displeasing to Him. Unrepented sin hinders breakthroughs to prayers. So make it a habit to incorporate repentance in your prayers. Repent for the part you have participated in inflating or causing the negative report. Renounce and release the poison of the trauma/ offense from your spirit, mind, soul, and body,

  1. Forgiveness – If you are aware of the person used or the situation used to create the negative report, forgive, let it go, and hand it over to God to deal with it. At times we beat ourselves for the mistakes we have made. Forgive yourself for if you contributed in one way or another to that negative report.

  1. Intercept with Prayer- Seek the Holy Spirit for direction on what to pray for regarding that negative report specifically. Kings David, Jehoshaphat, and Hezekiah are great examples to learn from. When these kings received negative reports, they turned to God for direction through prayer, at times fasting and worship (See their accounts in the Bible in Chronicles, Kings, and Isaiah). Don’t just engage in the flesh without involving the Holy Spirit. Through information provided by the Holy Spirit, you will be able to wage war accordingly. The Holy Spirit specific instructions, or the source of the problem, or the name of the specific issue or demon you need to cast out. Engaging the Holy Spirit will allow you to stay on target, hit the mark, and obtain breakthroughs much faster.

  1. Intercept with Worship– Worship is a powerful weapon of warfare. You can intercept with a worship prayer and by singing praise and worship to the Lord.

  1. Intercept with the Word – The Word of God, the Holy Spirit, and Your declarations are potent in battle. The word of God is the two-edged sword that penetrates darkness (Hebrews 4:12). The Word of God is also the law through which justice for the righteous and judgments against evil are passed.

  1. Intercept with Adamant Faith and Persistence – Fully believe God to come through for you. From time to time, the enemy can be relentless because he will keep bringing the same attack but in different forms. Discern very quickly that you are dealing with the same spirit. We overcome more from a place of rest than when we are anxious, worried, or afraid – such can lead us to war in the flesh rather than in the Spirit. Notice that the strategies of the fight may change.  Ask the Holy Spirit what strategy to use. At times, the barrage of attacks is the strategy of the enemy to exhaust you so that you give up. Now and then, God exposes several things so that you deal with them back to back to teach you how to war effectively or to expose you to the schemes of the enemy; that way, you know how to deal with them the future or help another person. Relentlessly fight it off – keep fighting until you attain the victory.

  1. Engage on the spot –When the enemy attacks, engage on the spot, do not wait for a later time to overcome him. If the dream is negative, cancel it on the spot. If it is a bad medical report, refuse to accept. I heard a testimony of a lady who renounced a thyroid malfunction. Each morning she woke up casting out the anomaly and declaring her thyroid gland healed. She was healed, and she did not have to undergo surgery! Halleluyah report/If someone gives you a negative report or curses you, cancel it on the spot. If you have a negative thought, cancel it right away – do not entertain negative thoughts; our minds /thoughts are the predominant platforms the enemy targets to attack. Reject anything that does not agree with the word of God. Entertaining a bad thought will result in the further assault of the enemy through rationalization, convincing you which results in circum to sin or the development of a stronghold. You have the power to intercept every negative thought. Confront every contrary report on the spot!

  1. Intercept with the promises and prophesies spoken over you. Bad reports or attacks are often sent to discourage, delay, distract, or to make abort your destiny, purpose, and the assignment. Reflecting and declaring what the Lord has told you already empowers us to stay focused on what is essential. By reviewing and meditating on them, you are assured of God’s promises-God watches over His word to perform it (Jeremiah 1:12). Knowing that God will keep His promise energizes you to continue moving. We believe the report of the Lord not the report of the enemy. God will do what He has promised (Romans 4:17-21).

In conclusion, know that God will always be there despite negative reports we may receive. Some are used to test, strengthen us, and exert the best in us. No matter the reason, you have the power to intercept and mitigate the damage. I pray for you to receive impartation to pray and to war with the Holy Spirit. Break the spirit of fear and intimidation. Pray for increased discernment and sensitivity to the Holy Spirit so that you can hear and follow through with the instructions He provides you. Pray that the Holy Spirit helps you recall the warnings He has given you in the past and show you the strategy to war effectively.

In the name of Jesus Christ and by the shed Blood of Jesus, I break and cast out confusion, mental and emotional manipulation. I break every yoke of oppression, affliction, set back, stagnation, and lack of progress. I unlock doors and opportunities that need to open to you. I Cancel all bad reports. I declare God’s favor, blessings, health, long life, prosperity, and God appointment connection over you in Jesus’ Name. Receive power! You are an overcomer!

Every believer can effectively engage in spiritual warfare; the life we now live in is Christ who lives in us. In Him we live, move and have His move.  With Jesus Christ in us, we have the DNA of Christ, that means we have His attributes including His authority and power. As co-heirs with Christ we have the upper hand to engage in spiritual warfare, fighting FROM a place of victory not for victory.

Below are weapons of warfare that we have to successfully engage in spiritual warfare. Details of list provided are in the newly released book for declarations and prayers for spiritual warfare title “Victorious Overcomer”. Get a copy from the store; www.paulineadongo.com. The weapons are:

  1. Your Identity in Christ- know who you are, what you have and whose you belong
  2. The Trinity- You have God the Father, Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit on routing for you
  3. The Name of Jesus, The Blood of Jesus and our testimonies
  4. The Word of God
  5. The Fire of God
  6. The Gifts of the Holy Spirit; words of wisdom, words of knowledge, discernment of spirits, prophesy, seer gifts, and praying in tongues
  7. The Holy Communion
  8. The Angelic Support
  9. The weapons listed in Ephesians 6:10-18
  10. The already granted authority and power
  11. Walking in purity and holiness; our character and attitudes
  12. The foundations of love, forgiving one another and repentance
  13. Friendship and communion with the Holy Spirit
  14. Unity in prayer and walking in the fruit of the Spirit
  15. Prayer and fasting
  16. Declarations of Scripture
  17. Praise, thanksgiving and worship

Spiritual warfare is often associated with the weapons in Ephesians 6, but you see from the list there are more weapons that can be used. Like in the natural, wars may vary, that means the weapons and approach to engage in warfare may also vary. This list provides you multiple weapons to use. Before you engage, ask the Holy Spirit to show you the source or root of the warfare and how to effectively engage. For more on this topic, please get the new book’ Victorious Overcomer”

#DONOTFREAKOUT-Spiritual Warfare Dreams

God still speaks to all people, believers in Christ and non-believer alike. Dreams and trances are some of the means God uses to communicate to us. When God communicates through dreams is often to give instructions, to provide counsel or direction on a matter, to clarify matter or to warn us about impending danger.

Should you notice that you are dreaming about evil, demonic attacks or witchcraft activity, do not freak out. It is highly likely that God is showing you what is happening so that you can act on it. Remember also God will not show you something without having equipped you for what He is showing you.

Each believer has been endowed with authority and power, crowned with honor and glory. The same Spirit that raised Jesus from the dead lives in you and is active. You have the Word of God which is sharper than a two-edged sword that is available for use. When such dreams occur, raise up in faith, renounce them, bind them (binding means forbid or restrict them from working). Cancel the effects or assignments of what you saw in the dream by the blood of Jesus and in the Name of Jesus, cast the demons associated with what you saw in the dream out , then declare a promise from the Bible that is related to what you saw in the dream. Continue declaring the promise over you. By making the declarations you are “loosing” the blessings over you. Hence the promise, Bind and Loose; Matthew 18:18. Assuredly, I say to you, whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven (NKJV)

Some of the dreams could be exposure of hidden things or generational issues that need to be addressed. Such dreams are often repeated. Follow the same process in the previous paragraph to tackle them. You may also seek additional help from believers, pastors or ministers to pray with you.

But don’t freak out- You are likely being shown stuff that you are qualified to overcome!

-In both testaments of the Bible, you will notice a common theme in the destinies of people God used. The theme is that these people had connections or people who steered them towards what God wanted them to accomplish. This week’s blog is to encourage you to know that you are not alone in what God has for you and He has connections for you.

Now satan only mimics what God has for you. In the destiny journey we must recognize the connections and decide what to work with and what not to allow around us.  Consider the following:

  • Your Mind-What God has for you is engrained in your heart and mind. Continue to believe what God has spoken over you as you wait for its manifestation. Satan may bring you wrong connections in form of doubt, fear, hinderances. Remember you become what you think about yourself (Proverbs 23:7). Resist, renounce and object to any thought that is contrary to the promise God has for you. Only connect with God has said and declare that daily until it manifests (2 Corinthians 10:3-6).
  • Enemies -Even amidst opposers of your destiny, all things still work for the God. God allows enemies to teach us how to war (Judges 3:1-4). God allows opposers to keep us determined and focused on the assignment He has for us (Nehemiah 4:1-21) , However; God will not allow your adversaries to overtake you (Psalm 121,Psalm 91, Isaiah 54:16-17, Jeremiah 1:19, Zechariah 2:5). Enemies will manifest through demonic spiritual attacks and through people closest to you (Matthew 10:34-39). To both, say NO! So, don’t panic when you experience opposition in your destiny journey. You are always in power (Luke 10:19, Colossians 1:9-18). You always war from a victorious identity and position.
  • Your Company– Your circle of friends either propel or repel your destiny. Key is to identity who is who. Walking in purpose may require walking alone for a while until God brings your healthy connections. We see this in the relationship between Abraham and Lot (Genesis 13:14-18), Jacob and Esau (Genesis 33:12-15, Genesis 32:22-30), Joseph and his brothers(Genesis 37:12-36, Genesis 50: 19-21), Orpah, Ruth and Naomi(Ruth 1:6-22). Not everyone you are “close to” is assigned to your destiny, so when God allows people to leave your life, thank Him instead, He has the right connections ahead. Additionally, learn to let go of destiny wasters. You can identity destiny wasters by a lack of growth or development when you are around them or; they could be people who always talk you off your plans and dreams. Such like the status quo- they want you stay at the same level. In my native language Luo, they call this jiromre or romre (same level).

Continually partner with the Holy Spirit, our true Guide and Helper-the discerner or thoughts and motives, in your destiny journey. He will align you with the right connections and warn you of impending danger.

This week pray, praying more in the Spirit (prayer language, tongues) and ask God to expose anything around you that is currently hindering your progress. Ask the Holy Spirit to expose and help you detach from anything or anyone that should not be part of life permanently in the name of Jesus! The Spirit of the Lord shall raise up a standard against them (Isaiah 59:19). It is not by might, nor by power, but by My Spirit says the Lord (Zechariah 4:6). Trust God to connect you with healthy people that will support your destiny.

Often after prolonged periods of seeking God and doing what you know best you can be left speechless with no words to tell God. This may also happen when you approach your prayer time and simply have no clue how to begin. My encouragement to you this week is consider praising Him.

For the past three weeks, my spirit has been singing “Praise Him” By Kelly Willard and Bob Fitts. It’s an old Integrity Hosanna Music Song. I either woke up singing that song or I could hear my spirit singing it before or after devotions. I finally downloaded the song then got what the Holy Spirit was communicating. He basically wanted me to stop my petitions and praise God.

I know it’s the end of the week – I hope you’ve had a good week, but if your week has been challenging, consider praising God for sustaining you through it. Consider praising Him for what He did in the past and for the pending promise He is about to fulfil. Consider praising God for the unknown and the unseen; this would be faith at work and a pleasing sacrifice as well.

After you have done all you know and have no more words to say- rest in God. Consider switching your prayers to a prayer of praise. Sacrifices are not limited to monetary gifts or offerings. Praise amidst the unknown is a great sacrifice. In fact, God says in Psalm 50:23Whoever offers praise glorifies Me: and to him that orders his conversation aright will I show him the salvation of God. Psalm 22:3- Yet I know that you are most holy; it’s indisputable. You are God-Enthroned, surrounded with songs, living among the shouts of praise of your princely people.

So why should you praise God again: – Because God has already seen the end from the beginning, because praise is a sacrifice that God responds to and because God abides right in your praise. When worry comes, praise Him, when anxiety comes, praise Him, when fear knocks, reject it, when anger comes, overcome it, then praise God. Praise is dimension of spiritual warfare.

Praise Him!

Although Satan may subject us to multiple attacks, the key to our victory is not to overly focus the devil or the attack. This does not mean ignoring the attack, but rather refocusing our attention to our strongest Defender, Jesus Christ. OUR VICTORY IS BY FAITH. Whenever the devil shows up, rebuke him, renounce him, cast him out, declare God’s destiny promises over you and move on

Put less emphasis on the attack; the devil would want you to dwell on the attack to get a platform for more attacks. We empower whom we focus on. The armor of faith (Ephesians 6:10-18) will be the fiery weapon to launch concurrently as you concentrate on God’s Word that is related to the attack the devil has launched against you. That Scripture is your Sword-the Sword of the Spirit is the Word of God. Declare that Scripture/promise amidst the negative experience. FAITH and relentless focus births the victory.

Apostle Paul testifies of additional weapons in 2 Corinthians 6:1-10; emphasis on verse seven (7), about weapons of righteousness on both hands. We then, as workers together with Him also plead with you not to receive the grace of God in vain.  For He says: “In an acceptable time I have heard you, and in the day of salvation I have helped you. “Behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation. We give no offense in anything, that our ministry may not be blamed. But in all things we commend ourselves as ministers of God: in much patience, in tribulations, in needs, in distresses,  in stripes, in imprisonments, in tumults, in labors, in sleeplessness, in fastings; by purity, by knowledge, by longsuffering, by kindness, by the Holy Spirit, by sincere love, 7 by the word of truth, by the power of God, by the armor of righteousness on the right hand and on the left, 8 by honor and dishonor, by evil report and good report; as deceivers, and yet true; 9 as unknown, and yet well known; as dying, and behold we live; as chastened, and yet not killed;  as sorrowful, yet always rejoicing; as poor, yet making many rich; as having nothing, and yet possessing all things (NJKV).

So,with one hand we rebuke and cast out the devil, in one hand we decree and declare because our hope and faith are in Jesus Christ our Rock. We do both of these while maintain our hand on the plough doing what God as assigned us to do. In Christ we live and move and have our being (Acts 17:28). Not in the devil and his schemes.

Let faith in God push you through. Let persistence determination fuel you. Greater is He that is in you than he that is the World. Keep your eyes in Jesus. The Author and Finisher of your faith. He who started a good work in you will bring it to completion (Philippians 1.6). Release the armor of faith backed by the Word of God which is the Sword of the Spirit. You, dear children, are from God and have overcome them, because the One who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world (1 John 4:4) NIV. If stuck, seek the assistance of a trusted reputable deliverance minister.w

I have observed something in the ministerial journey so far and even on a personal note. That the spirit of setback can manifest by constantly reminding you of past trauma, offenses of negative situations and even successes and achievements. My encouragement to you this week is “do not make a bed out of the situation, leave the camp!

Whenever you start rehearsing past experiences whether good or bad and don’t seem to moving forward; you have just made a camp. Satan may even lead you to believe that “you own the issue with labels like “my migraines”, my abuse, my loss, my arthritis, my divorce; or you know, I can’t be healed because this runs in my family; my success, my award, my profit, my promotion. Shortly after, you find yourself identifying yourself with these These are deceptions and tactics to give you a false identity, keep you stagnant, to keep you from deliverance and to keep you from pursuing your destiny. Camp no more!

You know, there a gets a point where you can’t just take these anymore; where you draw the line, and say enough is enough. I am not down playing any negative experiences or their effects; but do not allow satan to keep you in his camp. His aim is to pamper you, make you feel victimized and rationalize you to destruction; aborting your destiny.

The story of the 4 lepers in 2 Kings 7:4 If we say, ‘We’ll go into the city’—the famine is there, and we will die. And if we stay here, we will die. These were lepers who in the were castes making some dire decisions about their destinies. (Please read the whole chapter 2 Kings 7)

MOST DELIVERANCES OCCUR WHEN WE DENOUNCE AND LET GO WHAT WE HAVE ALLOWED IN OUR LIVES; REVOKING FALSE BELIEFS AND COVENANTS ESTABLISHED IN THE “CAMP”. This week evaluate any areas of your life where you do not see progress for any “camp behavior”. Denounce them and give them an exit slip with NO RETURN STAMPS in the name of Jesus. Once they leave, fill your life with Bible Scriptures concerning the area you just released; pray more and ask the Holy Spirit to heal that area completely. Then ask the Holy Spirit to also show you the progress you should pursue. And don’t worry, even if you had “camped” for so long, the same Holy Spirit will recompense 7 times more what the canker worm had eaten Joel 2:32- And EVERYONE who calls on the name of the Lord shall be delivered

The Breakthroughs and new things in 2017, will only happened when we DECIDE to let go the past and present; surrender and allow God to fully lead you. Are you ready to leave the camp?

Have you ever been involved in a discussion or conflict and the midst of it ask; how in the world did I ever get here; where did this come from? The answer to these questions is distractions! They come in various forms and ways, but it’s imperative that we stay strategically focused to our visions and goals. So, in 2017, only fight the good fight!

The Apostle Paul in his final instructions to Timothy, a young Pastor encourages him to Fight the Good fight of Faith-1 Timothy 6:12- Fight the good fight o the true faith. Hold tightly to the eternal life to which God has called you, which you have confessed so well before many witnesses.

I encourage you this week and in 2017 to only focus on what advances the Kingdom of God in you and the purposes of God in your life. Fight Kingdom style:
•Fight with the weapons of righteousness on both hands -2Corinthians 6:7
•Fight with your mind set on things that are above not below. Colossians 3:2
•Fight by bringing your mind to subject to God and every contract thought to submit to God’s authority-2 Corinthians 10:5
•Fight my guarding your heart-Proverbs 4:23
•Fight by studying the Word of God-2Timothy 2:15
•Fight with the weapons of warfare which are we know are mighty to bring down stronghold. The weapons are, salvation, righteous, faith, truth, peace, the Word of God, prayer. 2Corinthians 10:4
•Fight by not getting into unnecessary arguments-1Timothy 2:23
•Fight by not being unequally yoked-2 Corinthians 6:14
•Fight by bearing the fruits of the Spirit-Galatians 5:22-23
•Fight through worship, prayer, thanksgiving, by the blood of the Lamb and in the Name of Jesus-Revelation 12:11
•Fight by staying alert and vigilant-1 Peter 5:8
•Fight by staying bold and Courageous Joshua 1:9
•Fight by submitting to the Holy Spirit -Galatians 5:16, James 4:7-10

Fight by relinquishing the fight to the Holy Spirit knowing that it not by our strength, gifts or skills, but by the Holy Spirit. Fight knowing Greater is He that is you and he that is in the world.

Let us Enact and Activate the Kingdom of God in our lives, for our marriages, for our children, for our families for our jobs and businesses. This week only purpose to engage in what advances God’s Kingdom in your live and in the lives others. Only fight the good fight.
